Coinbase Review – Buy, Sell and Accept Bitcoin

Coinbase is an international digital wallet that allows you to securely buy, use and accept bitcoin currency.

I have successfully used Coinbase to both buy and sell Bitcoins online in the US. It’s a nice website and very easy to use. First step is to sign up for a free account. Before you can buy or sell you must also need to add and verify your bank account so I recommend getting this done before  and if the price drops in your buying zone. Until your account is fully verified you will not be eligible for  instant deposits and subject to quantity limitations. Before you read any further why don’t you go ahead and knock that out here, CoinBase Bitcoin Wallet Signup.

I’ve heard of horror stories of Coinbase locking up “high risk” customer accounts. I have yet to have a problem with it but I must recommend you do your own research. If you live in the USA alternatively you can use BitStamp or LocalBitcoins.

Yesterday I purchased one bitcoin for $1 since I am a novice (wanted to learn how), and got this response from them today–one day later:

“…After an assessment of your account activity, your recent purchase with Coinbase was cancelled. You will receive a full refund to your bank
account within 3-4 business days. Our system is designed with safety and security as the highest priorities. Because of this, sometimes not all orders are executed normally. We must exercise caution in order to protect our customers, the bitcoin community, and our company….”

Nothinhg else, no explanation, no rationale (my address & bank account were verified)…was rude and arbitrary…maybe they only want the big bucks for their 1% fee. Don’t know what I did for them to think I might be a security risk against their “customers.”
